In January, I highlighted that Tier 3 NHL markets played to full capacity over the Christmas/holiday break. The baseball schedule with 4 long weekends gives teams the chance to converts Sunday into a bonus Saturday and the Monday into a religious commitment free Sunday.
That said, between AAA and AA baseball, only 6 of the 30 home took advantage of Labor Day. Those who did often doubled almost tripled the weeks Wednesday gate.

The Ticats have branded this annual holiday game vs Toronto as the “Labour Day Classic” which consistently drives the year’s biggest gate and is the lynch pin game to help secure season memberships.

The RoughRiders by treating the date like the holiday it is (add FW’s) 4x’d the gate from the previous Tuesday and drew their biggest gate since Saturday August 18th on Labor Day.
