Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #114
(Why all the empty seats at Dodger Stadium for the World Series)

Special thanks to my good friend Shawn Carter for sending me photos of the empty sections. He’s also a champion who after battling a health scare, took his family to the World Series in LA to celebrate his recent great news.

The reason for the empties is because teams by concentrating on maximizing yield over capacity, eliminate the one game ticket buyer from paying below what your committed member did.

The Jays this post season are achieving capacity and yield (rare) thanks to great ticket sales management and by giving away tickets thru a Rogers contest to ensure every seat is filled.

That said, it’s also very special what the Tampa Bay Lighting under the guidance of my former sale manager Steve Griggs and lead by Travis Pelleymounter SVP Ticket sales of the Lightening work hard to maintain the NHL’s longest sellout streak which includes groups tickets.
