Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #121
(Is your schedule Season ticket holder friendly or not?)

Reducing the exhaustion of travel, aligning to a sports transfer portals, managing expenses, and figuring out how to allow players to compete in the Olympics midseason are legitimate reasons to make schedule changes.

That said, today with a verified secondary ensuring fans can buy any date on a needs basis, I question if the ticket sales departments responsible for securing season commitments had any say with the following decisions. #ticketsalesidea
– #NBA teams hosting on back to back nights vs the same opponent.
– #MLS moving dates from sunny summer nights to winter temperatures.
– #Milb Schedule adjusted to week on week off vs the same opponent 6 times.
– 75% of the #NHL schedule being crammed in before Feb 6th (overlap with the NFL) with several markets only hosting 1 game in February (Detroit none).

On Friday, I’ll highlight teams who in thanks to building membership friendly programs with true value continue to retain and grow independent of the teams record, schedule or flexible convenience of the secondary market.
