Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #21
(Use uncontrollable setbacks as a chance to feature goodwill)

Rain delays, attraction players being injured, relief pitchers in the 1st inning or stars resting for load management are all fan experience set backs teams can’t afford to ignore and continue to expect early buying commitments.

Major League Stars- NY Mets: Jeff Deline CRO and Jake Bye SVP TS

When last Sunday’s premium match up vs the Dodgers was delayed 4 hours by rain, the Mets re-scheduled the gate open time to prevent fans from being held hostage in the stadium and issued a bonus Monday-Thursday courtesy ticket to all ticket holders.

Minor League Stars- Milb’s Rainout policy

It appears that whatever day is rained out, the make up double header is played on fan friendly Saturday. Assuming capacity exists, the rain out date is honored for the Saturday and with the one entry doubleheader, fans can attend both or the game that works best in their schedule.
