Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #46
Talking about the tickets sales 3 legged stole analogy (Capacity, Yield and Membership perceived value) I need to add clarity for April MLB games.
Minus Opening Day (no sports does it half as well) April is baseballs least favorite month. The exception might be the Las Vegas Aviators (who I’m visiting Monday) only b/c in Nevada, April weather trumps July and August. For everyone else, NBA/ NHL Playoffs, kids in school, not significant games and/or weather places April’s dead last.
Therefore as ticket members at the MLB level, don’t panic to John Santana (Jays), Rob Fasoldt (Cards), P.J. Keene (Astros) and Curt Waugh (Padres) when the secondary is below cost in April. In July/ August, you’re likely getting a deal every night to offset the overall value in your favor.
That said, every baseball tickets sales executive in the world is a little jealous of Chip Allen Commish of the Coastal Plain League’s May 25th start date.
