Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #56
(Retaining ticket value is an importance as attendance)
I experienced the importance of attendance during the reduced capacity buildings limited by Covid in May ’21 when I attended 16 events in 9 leagues across 4 sports. My discovery: Live sports minus the crowds roar was underwhelming.
Ticket sales teams are able to build these great crowds by securing early ticket commitments (often prior to the season) in the form of season tickets, mini packages, pre-season sales windows, theme nights and group tickets.
That said, when the secondary market undercuts the value for these preseason commitments (numerous variables as to why), it puts the entire ticket sales ecosystem in jeopardy.
