Ticket Sales Tip of the Week #57 -Stars Behind them
(Retaining season members inclusive of the midweek dates)
When I met with Rob Fasoldt Dir of Tickets Sales for the St Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium I learned his attendance fanbase radius grew from 50 miles Monday to Thursday to 600 miles on the weekends. Andrew Miller when he arrived to the Blue Jays from Cleveland shared with me over a breakfast his challenge to fill midweek game but not at the expense of your weekend gate. Linzy Jones VP of TS of the Winnipeg Jets (I learned over a February beer) run some of the most engaging community outreach theme night all directed @ midweek games due to the dates natural lack of demand.
Reality, the weekend game is often underpriced and the midweek game is overpriced based on the market size variance between the dates. The exception in select markets would be premium areas where business connection is easier midweek. Overall, ignoring the secondary market midweek ticket value exposer is dangerous b/c it gives your best supporters a data reference to not renew or join season tickets.
