Ticket Sales Tip of the Week – #77
(Bigger is rarely better with regards to a sport venue seating map)

The reality, a larger seating capacity is more difficult to sellout (often decreasing ticket demand knowing seats are available) , the sold out venue is a better fan experience and reducing seats means the average ticket just got better.

Minor League Stars- Arizona State Football

By reducing capacity from 74,000 to 54,000, a venue that never sold out in the past, had a secondary entry price this past Saturday at $200.00 and $350 Lower bowl. With Lower Bowl membership starting at $800 for the season, everybody (particularly retention) won thanks to Saturday’s scarcity.

Major League Stars- Anuk Karunaratne former SVP Blue Jays (now Cardinals) and John Santana Sr D Ticket Sales Blue Jays

In ’23 the Blue Jays renovated the outfield into open spaces, kids zone with games and a multiple bars sightlines overlooking the field by removing over 9,000 seats. The result, the by building a premium group areas and new General admissions seats, the Jays converted a dead seating zone into the first place that fills up before every game.
