Why are the Panthers trying to block Canadian Ticket Sales?

Having worked in sports for more then 25 years, I’m not sure personally (and those close to me) have been asked one question as often as this issue came up today.

The answer: The Panthers are being thoughtful to their regionals fans by trying to eliminate visiting “ticket buyers” from acquiring seats before locals have had a chance. The reality is that nothing the Panthers have in place will stop original buyers from posting tickets on the numerous secondary markets channels where Leaf fans are already accustom to buying tickets.

To ensure I’m clear, this isn’t a shot at Leaf fans. As my former boss Chris Overholt (presently at MSG and formerly the CRO with the Panthers) will attest, the Panthers love Canadian NHL hockey fans.
